FaceBook E-Commerse
30th Aug 2011

Hi.

This page is designed to be the landing page of the facebook gifts presentation, if you have not seen it please click here.

It's a little long and we should have given the option to not spend more due to facebook giving money to good causes and as well as the option for facebook membership not to increase. On the other hand whatever figure you arrived at should be increased by 50% as the calculations were worked out for 500 million members not 750 million members.

Few however will argue that this very simple idea makes a lot of money.

For it tom make the Billions it needs two factors.

Factor1:

Good PR, public awareness and in general public willingness to want to use the function. What better possible PR could there be than facebook being the company that more than any turned the global economic recession around with this idea central to the process.

Factor 2:

Supply and distribution networks and a credible complaints review system.

There are of course existing distribution networks for online sales, many in fact.

But what if facebook made their own network and could genuinely sell for 10% - 25% less than any other online company, and we're not talking about marking up goods a 100% so as they can be discounted by 50%, we're talking about a 10% - 25% discount on the prices you would get at your local Macro or Cash and Carry warehouse.

To see how this is done you will need to look in the Spartan Theory section of the presentation, specifically "networking 500,000 Greek businesses and Sienna.Gov

These pages highlight how the money raised from initial investment from Partner Companies and would be Partner companies plus the 50% earmarked for charity, science, ecology and global economic stability is used to create a wonderful city dedicated to science and creating software and networks to link companies together and example made, simply the collective ordering of beer from all Greek consumer companies, restaurants, supermarkets, bars, hotels, off licenses and bottle stores making the single largest order for beer in Europe and as such demanding the cheapest price in Europe.

If facebook were to be the architects behind this system, should they wish to buy beer they would be collectively buying it at the cheapest price in Europe and so could sell it far cheaper than a company like Macro.

I'm not suggesting that facebook should sell beer just how the collective purchasing of 500,000 companies could demand the cheapest price for just about everything.

Greece is a very obvious starting point, the second obvious distribution network however is the USA.

The facebook gifts idea is indeed possibly the simplest idea of how to make lots of money ever, the PR and the ultra competitive supply and distribution networks however will take allot of work and there's an argument that it is the work involved that will kick start the economy, Millions of jobs, large companies investing huge amount in technology and science and the Millions of people involved in the continuing creation of software to network the global economy.

Be it the software itself or be it the huge operation to make the software, one way or the other this is the only way the world can try to make and accurate economic forecast for the future.

If you havent read the executive summery yet, this is a good place to start.
